We are now half way through the season, having played 10 games since 14/9 in Division 5 of the Kent League and one friendly game. The last few weeks have been very positive for Remnants HC with 7 wins in a row (6 league games and 1 friendly game) and we are now in 4th position behind Brom Becks, Marden Russets and New Beccs with 21 points.
This is a great result for Remnants HC and it has been great to see new and seasoned players getting more and more confident on the pitch.
Training sessions have been well attended and the team has been able to work on set pieces as well as stick skills. The monthly Rush Hockey sessions are very popular and are great for team building.
Have a look at the calendar for 2020 dates. If you want to attend training or rush hockey, just send us a message and we will be happy to welcome you.
At the end of November, we celebrated Christmas a bit early with a lovely meal at the Apple Tree in London: a really welcoming LGBTQ+ pub with some gorgeous food (Thanks Sabe for organising). Watch out for details of 2020 social events and feel free to contact Sabe if you have some ideas about where we should go next!
Our club is proud to be such an inclusive organisation, welcoming women of all backgrounds, abilities and sexual orientations. We were honoured to be part of Pride Sports launch of the LGBT sport finder in November. You can look for sports club all over the UK. Here is Remnants on LGBT Media website.
We also took part in Stonewall Rainbow Laces party on 28th November and LGBT Media #AuthenticMe evening with openly gay athletes and sports journalists back in October.
Before I wish you all a very good Christmas break with your family and friends, here are few more photos from some of our league games. The photos below were take by Claire. You can check out her work on her facebook page.
Enjoy the hockey break and some tasty mince pies. See you all at training on 7th January at 7pm and on the pitch on 11th January against Faversham HC.
